If you've ever wondered why the only parts of a stone crab that are sold in seafood stores are the claws, it's because harvesters only take one claw, thereby leaving another claw for the crab's defense and so it can reproduce and repopulate the species. These succulent crustaceans are celebrated each year in Crystal River, Florida, at the annual Stone Crab Festival. ALL FRESH KITCHEN has attended this lively event for the past three years and it's proven to be a favorite of ours. The day is unusually long, but the huge crowds, all clamoring for bowls of crab claws, and, of course, the savory sausage dogs at the ALL FRESH KITCHEN booth, make all of the hard work worthwhile. This city-wide fundraiser is always popular and the organizers do such a wonderful job. We can't thank them enough for including us in their annual event.
