Mullets, mullets, everywhere! ALL FRESH KITCHEN traveled to Niceville, Florida, in North Florida for the annual Mullet Festival. We must admit that we have never experienced so many different ways to prepare mullet. The bands were phenomenal! One after the other played from 10am until the heavens opened up at around 9pm and soaked the festival goers and vendors alike. A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL. We really enjoyed this festival. Our vendor spot was directly next to a lovely woman and her entire extended family from New Orleans. She is a regular vendor on the street of the Big Easy and well-known for her authentic creole and cajun food. As most food vendors do, we exchanged goods. While my brother and I feasted on shrimp étouffée from her vendor wagon, her son and grandchildren gobbled down our homemade cheese grits, which, according to all of them, was a family favorite. Swapping recipes and food is a prized pastime of many food vendors.
